NYTVF’s Independent Pilot Competition alumni have gone on to work on HBO’s “Animals” and CW’s “No Tomorrow,” among other television projects. Nine of the pilots feature LGBTQ narratives, four showcase Asian-American themes, seven are animated projects and 39 are comedy series. The 2016 selections come from diverse content creators with 59% of the selections hailing from women in prominent roles (creator, writer, director, exec producer), and 43% hailing from persons of color in the core creative team or principal cast.
